Google said over a million people will come. I went 30mins before hand and... I can believe it.

‘Not a fan of all the #brands that are polluting the march; but the more the merrier I suppose. Otherwise it was pretty chill; people were smoking loads of pot; cyclists with pride flags overran the avenue  and the frontage roads, and despite heavy police presence; street vendors were selling rainbow color gelatin with vodka. 

It was properly breathtaking; its probably going to be the second largest march in Mexico City’s history

If the price of visibility and acceptance is that some corporate fatcats  make an extra couple million, I’m not complaining.

I keep seei ng people on facebook bitching that Taylor Swift is just pandering for money with her newest music vid. I’m just like, jesus christ one of the most pre eminent pop artists in the world is making a pro-LGBTQ statement and you’re COMPLAINING about it?!?!

Yep. I just don’t get it.

I don’t know for sure if they did it this year, but last year my employer flew the rainbow flag at our corporate headquarters. I didn’t expect it to mean as much to me as it did, but it does. They walk the walk, too. We have a very visible group of LGBT employees that are supported wholeheartedly by management and they hold multiple events every year. And it’s very easy for any employee to find the group and talk to them. (The company doesn’t just do this for LGBT employees, there are groups for everyone.) This is the first company I’ve worked for where I’m completely out of the closet and I haven’t had any negative interactions at all. It’s so liberating. I don’t know if every company that sponsors pride events has such a great work atmosphere , but it’s a good starting point.

My employer actually walks in Boston’s pride parade ever y year, and employees are given the day off if they want to participate. It's very wholesome

That’s cool! My partner's work does the same, and he was in the parade this year. I thought that was really cool, but at the same time I don't know if I could do that because I'm pretty introverted. Marching in any parade would be terrifying to me.
